How does a 3D foot laser scanner help maintain our foot health?

2026-06-22

The 3D foot laser scanner adopts the laser principle to inspect and measure human feet.

The measurable data include foot length, foot width, the fat or thin degree of foot shape, shoe size recommendation, insole recommendation, toe type, hallux analysis, flat foot assessment, high arch foot assessment, arch height, arch width coefficient and more than 60 groups of key foot dimension data.

The measurement can be completed in around 20 seconds, and a measurement report in PDF format can be generated. The measurement report can display our foot data and foot analysis at a glance, helping us assess whether there are hallux valgus, hindfoot varus, hindfoot valgus, flat feet, high arch feet and other foot conditions.

In addition, it can simultaneously generate 3D format data such as STL and OBJ. Such data can assist us in the design and production of orthotic insoles and orthopedic shoes.

The 3D foot laser scanner can help us maintain our foot health in the following aspects:

1. Assess high arch feet, pes varus, pes valgus and other foot deformities.

The 3D foot scanner can not only measure data, but also analyze these data in supporting software to help us evaluate foot health conditions, such as assessing flat feet, high arch feet, hindfoot varus, hindfoot valgus and so on.

Specific analytical data will be provided and results will be presented in the measurement report.

It allows us to intuitively understand our foot parameters and foot health status.

2. The measured data can support the design and production of custom-made shoes and custom insoles.

3D format data including STL and OBJ can be obtained via the 3D foot laser scanner.

These data can be imported into 3D design software to build models for custom shoes, orthopedic shoes, custom insoles and orthotic insoles, followed by further personalized design based on the data to meet personalized fitting and orthotic correction demands.

If foot dimensions are measured manually without a foot scanner, the whole process will take dozens of times longer, and the measured data will suffer low precision, resulting in a long design and production cycle.

With measurements acquired from the 3D foot scanner, the production cycle can be greatly shortened. Customers can receive their required products much faster, which improves production efficiency as well as customer experience.

When people suffer from foot deformities such as flat feet, high arch feet, pes varus and pes valgus, orthotic insoles and orthopedic shoes made with the assistance of foot scanning data can be used for foot correction.

3. It can be applied in hospitals and rehabilitation institutions.

By introducing 3D foot scanners, hospitals and rehabilitation institutions can quickly and conveniently diagnose people’s foot problems.

This device can also be used for foot data comparison before and after surgery, providing doctors with sufficient data support to formulate more scientific foot health management plans, so as to better protect people’s foot health.
