The 3D laser foot scanner primarily utilizes optical principles, such as lasers, to measure the human foot.
The measured data includes: foot length, arch length, sole length, heel margin length, waist hollow length, first metatarsophalangeal joint length, fifth metatarsophalangeal joint length, total heel width, foot width, outer arch width, arch height, heel angle, big toe angle, heel protrusion height, and more than 20 sets of data.
Laser scanning belongs to non-contact measurement; it does not cause physical intrusion to human skin and does not bring discomfort to people. The laser is also within the safe range for the human body and will not cause harm. Whether adults, children, or the elderly, all can use it; the applicable population is wide, with no restrictions.
Moreover, the measurement time is very short. Scanning the data for both feet often requires only about 20 seconds, and it simultaneously generates a measurement report and can export 3D data in formats such as STL.
The measurement software also analyzes the measured data and evaluates foot health, such as assessing flat feet, high arches, foot pronation, foot supination, hallux valgus, toe types, etc. The measurement report is presented with charts and specific data analysis, allowing us to intuitively understand our foot health conditions.
The data measured by the 3D laser foot scanner has the following uses:
1. Conducting Foot Screening
For example, applied in hospitals or schools to conduct foot screening.
It can help doctors and rehabilitation therapists quickly diagnose a person's foot health condition, providing precise data as a basis.
Its fast measurement speed is especially suitable for batch screening, which can better safeguard people's foot health.
2. Application in Offline Shoe Stores
In offline shoe stores, introducing a 3D foot scanner allows customers to measure their own feet, enabling customers to fully understand their feet, which can improve the customer experience and enjoyment of technology.
In the software, the store's system can be configured, such as importing the store's shoes and insoles. After the customer completes the measurement, the system can intelligently match suitable insoles and shoes based on the customer's measured data, allowing customers to quickly find insoles and shoes that fit their foot shape. This promotes conversion rates, while also reducing return and exchange rates, and enhancing the customer experience.
Furthermore, if foot deformities such as flat feet or high arches are measured, the store can also provide correction services, such as corrective insoles and corrective shoes, increasing revenue channels.
3. The Measured 3D Data Can Be Used for Insole Design and Manufacturing
The acquired 3D data, such as STL, can be imported into professional insole design software like eSoleCAD for one-click insole modeling.
Rehabilitation therapists and professional designers then create reasonable correction plans based on the measured data and apply them to the insole design, thereby designing and manufacturing corrective insoles and related corrective aids that possess true corrective effects.
